The Lung Screening Team
Georgeann McGuinness. MD, a Vice Chair in the Department of Radiology at NYULMC, is a subspecialty fellowship trained thoracic (chest) radiologist, and a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, She has over 20 years of clinical experience in the interpretation of chest imaging studies, and has a long research history in lung diseases. She participated in and co-authored the earliest chest CT screening study report in the US, and has had an ongoing involvement in CT screening research over the past 15 years.
David Naidich, MD, Professor of Radiology, is an expert in thoracic radiology. He coauthored the earliest chest CT screening study report in the US and is a member of the national scientific committees to establish guidelines on interpretation and management of CT abnormalities discovered at screening.
Doreen Addrizzo-Harris, MD, is the section chief of pulmonary at Tisch Hospital and the Program Director of the Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Fellowship. She is a member of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates faculty practice at Tisch Hospital.
Alissa Greenberg, MD, is a pulmonologist who has been an investigator on the National Cancer Institute Early Detection Research Network NYU Lung Cancer Biomarker Center for the Early Detection of Lung Cancer since 2000. She has been the clinical director of this study, overseeing the screening of over 1500 patients for lung cancer. She has extensive experience in lung cancer research as well as clinical pulmonary medicine.
William N. Rom MD, MPH is the Director of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine and the Principal Investigator of the NYU Lung Cancer Biomarker Center. The NYU Lung Cancer Biomarker Center has been performing research lung cancer screening since 2001, and has focused on identifying biomarkers for the early detection of lung cancer. These biomarkers may help differentiate benign from malignant nodules. He has been the NYU Pulmonary Director for 23 years, and came to NYU from the NIH where he was a research scientist on asbestos and lung fibrosis.
Jackie Correa is the clinical coordinator of the NYULMC lung screening program.
Ellen Eylers, RN is the research coordinator for the NYU Lung Cancer Biomarker Center.
Harvey Pass, MD is the Director of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at NYU, and a Principle Investigator in the Early Detection Research Network of the National Cancer Institute. He has participated in lung cancer screening trials since 2001, and has extensive experience in surgical evaluation and management of screen- detected nodules, as well as the investigation of novel early detection biomarkers for lung cancer. Before coming to NYU in 2006, Dr. Pass was Chief of Thoracic Oncology at the National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, Maryland, and the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, Michigan.
